Modus liberates the kitchen from the conventional structure. The “non kitchen” kitchen. A melding of function, architectural element, furniture, and living space. The use of “curtains” to separate spaces, and free standing furniture type pieces defines the concept. Appliances concealed within the structures allows the kitchen space to transform easily between living space and functional work space.
Sink and cooktop integrated into the stainless steel countertops with the glass hoodfan canopy meeting the dual role of “elegant feature” and “functional ventilation”.
The curtains are a new concept of functional tall unit/pantry. The curtain system and boiserie can be integrated with the architecture of the kitchen area, and allows for the creation of partitions and connections with the living area. The modular panels create a system of columns in which functional elements, such as oven, dishwasher and fridge can be inserted, as well as open shelves that can also be used for the living area.
These furniture pieces provide a subtle backdrop or elegant accent . Whether providing functional storage or housing and concealing appliances, these elements are key components of the Modus system.
The new extractor hood for the MODUS range is no longer simply a functional element for cooking, but it has been transformed into a luminous and decorative element for the kitchen area. In the island and wall version the hood is available in one single dimension (150 cm long), characterized by acid-etched opaline Perspex screens that conceal a cold white light or dimmer device, with the possibility of modifying the luminous intensity or the chromatic effect desired.
The role of the materials used in the Modus system is to maintain relations between technology and natural materials.....The consistency and the expressive charge of wood, and steel, concealing the technical elements in favour of the environment. Different surfaces for different materials....finishes and treatments defined to enhance the consistency of each, in complete respect of industrial feasibility. The depth of the wooden surfaces with brushed pores, and the quality and the resistance of the 18/10mm thick stainless steel plating reflect the extreme and refined details of a high quality product.
Cabinetry: This Natural Teak Wood cabinetry features 30mm thick doors with an integrated pull, 40 mm thick gables, and ¾” case construction with extruded aluminium structural elements.
Countertops: Countertops are stainless and wood with integrated gas cooktop and sink.
Fixtures and Appliances: The cooktop, sink, and faucet are integrated into the stainless countertop element. Included is a custom lighted hoodfan canopy in white glass and stainless. If preferred, a downvent fan can be incorporated into the island stainless countertop.
Storage Accessories: All base cabinetry is fitted with stainless and wood pullout storage. The tall columns and sliding door mechanisms ensure convenient accessablity.
The intention of this name is to define a product of the future, open to changes and interpretations.
Interior architecture & furnishings.....Modus creates an authentic relationship with interior architecture.....changing the space... not simply camouflaging it, but transforming the space to include “utility”, “furniture”, and “component of architecture”.
